Design

The Bobble Ripple Baby Blanket is absolutely adorable and i can’t wait for you to try it out! Years ago i made a bobble ripple baby blanket and released it on an old crochet blog but i have revamped it and made it with two strands of Stylecraft Special DK so it has now become a chunky blanket and it is so cute!

I found making it chunkier the bobbles really pop and it made it even more quicker to crochet. You may recognize this stitch as i made a shawl out of it a while ago called the Bobble Ripple Shawl and this shawl has been very popular with Truly Crochet readers.

The PDF paid version of this pattern features the multiples so you can crochet this blanket in whatever size you would like and in whatever weight yarn that you like!

Crochet Baby Blanket Pattern

Yarn:

For this project i used the Stylecraft Special DK . There are so many colors to choose from and they are so bright and beautiful for a baby blanket and the price is really cheap, even though this is an acrylic yarn it’s definitely more of the premium kind, it’s so soft to work with!

Yarn Notes:

You will need to hold two strands at one time so i would advise buying two balls of the same color to make it easier as i tried splitting the yarn balls in half but that didn’t work out too well.

Please note though you will have quite a bit of yarn leftover if you buy two balls of each color but they can easily be used for your next baby blanket – No waste here!

You will need 323 yards of each color or 646 yards if you are buying two balls of each color to make it easier.

  • 100 grams
  • 323 yards /295 meters
  • 100% Acrylic
  • Machine Washable

Yarn Substitutions:

It is very easy to substitute this yarn all you would need to do is find your favorite yarn in DK or in a chunky weight. I used acrylic for this baby blanket pattern so i would advise in doing the same. Please see my yarn notes above to see what i done with the DK yarn and remember if you are using DK yarn you will hold two strands at one time!
