Notes:

  • This pattern is written using American standard crochet terminology.
  • This crochet shawl pattern is worked in rows starting from the bottom working towards the top
  • Turn your shawl over at the end of each row to begin your next row.
  • Ch1 at the start of each row does not count as a stitch throughout the pattern.
  • Repeat what is in between the stars from * to * until the end of the round.
  • If you have a ** in your row you need to follow the pattern from * to * across the entire row and then when you get near the end of the row you will finish your last repeat at ** because you can no longer complete the entire repeat then follow what it says to do to complete the row.
  • Read each row carefully before starting the row.

Repeat row 3 until your shawl measures 68.75 inches approx.

Fasten off, weave in ends and move on to blocking.

Blocking:

Don’t be scared to really stretch the shawl out when blocking as it really opens up the stitches, gives it definition and makes your shawl lay completely flat.

  • Soak finished shawl for 20 minutes in cool water.
  • Squeeze excess water out gently – do not twist.
  • Lay damp shawl on blocking boards and stretch to 16.75 inch width x 82.5 inch length (or to your desired width and length)
  • Use blocking pins to hold in place.
  • Let your shawl dry completely before unpinning.

I hope you love your new shawl, have fun crocheting!
