Design

Today’s FREE crochet pattern is the Lacy Flower Coaster, this is such a fun coaster to work up, this one is quite a lacy design and will definitely need blocking after you have worked it up so it sits right and lays completely flat. This crochet pattern is worked in the round meaning you will start from the center of the coaster and then work outwards. This is a beginner plus pattern as i have used special stitches which i have explained under the special stitches tab and these are picot stitches which are easy enough stitches to do as long as you know how to do them.

For the Lacy Flower Coaster i used cotton yarn that i had in my stash, if you have read about the Boho Triangle Coaster and the Boho Hexagon Coaster you will know by now i am such a yarn hoarder haha! I have a lot of cotton yarn leftover from other projects but it comes in handy when you want to make cute coasters like these 🙂

Free Crochet Pattern - Flower Coaster

I would highly recommend using cotton yarn for this project and for other crochet coaster patterns as i find they last longer than using acrylic yarn for something that is going to be used for hot and cold drinks but if you haven’t got any cotton yarn or don’t fancy using it you can use whatever yarn you prefer lovelies! Just remember acrylic yarn doesn’t wet block too well so you would need to carefully use a steamer.

Yarn:

For this project i used the Rico Creative Cotton Aran which is such a dream to work with, it comes in such an array of colors which are so fresh, vibrant and modern. You will need 93 yards for this project.

Cotton yarns are perfect for crocheting Summer projects like this one and for crochet coasters.

  • 50 grams
  • 93 yards /85 meters
  • 100% Cotton
  • Machine Washable
