Design
The Margot Baby Blanket was made due to the fact i had some spare yarn available in Hayfield Bonus Aran With Wool and i really enjoyed designing and crocheting up this baby blanket as i haven’t made one for a while!
With the Margot Baby Blanket i found a crochet stitch which is actually a filet crochet stitch pattern and then i integrated a border seamlessly so you just crochet the border on both sides of the blanket as you are crocheting along which automatically gives it a finish look, how easy is that!
On the top and bottom of the blanket i didn’t put any border on as i actually quite liked it already and felt it didn’t need a border but you can add a border if you wish. This crochet blanket pattern is suitable for a beginner.
Yarn:
For this baby blanket pattern i used Hayfield Bonus Aran With Wool which comes in some beautiful colors, it combines premium acrylic yarn with sheepswool! It is made with 80% Acrylic 20% Wool and is perfect for crochet blanket projects like this one as it comes in a massive 400g ball with 919 yards so you don’t have to keep adding yarn and weaving in ends, perfect!
You will need just 1 ball of this yarn for this crochet pattern!
- 400 grams
- 919 yards /840 meters
- 80% Acrylic 20% Wool
- This yarn can be machine washed

Yarn Substitutions:
You can easily substitute the yarn i used for any aran yarn, if you would prefer it not to have wool in then i have some great options for you below to try out but remember these don’t come in 400g balls so you will need to buy 919 yards of yarn for your blanket so please check to see how much yardage is on each ball.
