Design
The Transpire Blanket has a lovely open stitch to it will a couple of rows of double crochet stitches in between so the lacy style isn’t too open. The Transpire Blanket uses simple crochet stitches so it isn’t hard for a beginner to understand.
This free blanket pattern is in a baby blanket size but in the paid pattern I have included the multiples so you can make it in any size that you would prefer and with your ideal yarn.
Here are some common questions about this pattern to help you along with making this blanket:
What Size Is The Blanket?
The size of this blanket in the free pattern is 26.25 x 30.5 inches approx (with border) – Multiples are included in the paid pattern.
Is A Chart Available For This Pattern?
No. Only written instructions, line by line.
Do I Need To Block My Blanket?
I would advise that you do but it is completely up to you. I like to as it will make your blanket lay completely flat and fix any uneven stitches.
What Yarn Did You Use?
For this blanket I used RicoRumi DK which is such a soft lovely cotton yarn to work with and the colours that it comes in are really modern which makes it perfect for babies and around the home. This yarn is really affordable too.

Repeat rows 3-10 until blanket measures 30 inches approx finishing on row 10, turn – do not fasten off
Border:
Do two rows of sc evenly around the entire blanket, working 3sc in each corner stitch, join each row with a slip stitch to beginning sc.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Blocking:
*I would advise blocking your blanket to sort out any unevenness and for it to lay completely flat*
Soak the finished blanket for 20 minutes in cool water and squeeze excess water out gently. Do not twist. Lay damp blanket on blocking boards and block using blocking pins to hold in place and to neaten out any uneven edges. Let your blanket dry completely before unpinning.
