Tassels
Dividing your Tassels:
- Cut 60 strands of yarn around 10 inches long
- Divide the 60 strands in to 6 groups – You should have 6 piles of 10 strands in each pile
Attaching Tassels:
- You will be putting your tassels in each ch1 corner space
- Grab your first pile of 10 strands, fold them in half to make a loop at the half way mark
- Locate the first corner, put your hook through the ch1 space from back of the hexagon to the front of the hexagon
- Put your crochet hook through the loop of 10 strands, pull the loop through the ch1 space on the hexagon
- Remove your crochet hook
- Put your thumb and first finger though the loops and grab all the ends of the yarn and pull through
- Give a pull on each yarn strand to tighten the loop and secure
- Give the ends of the yarn a trim, i trimmed mine at 2 inches
Here is an example of how you can add tassels:
Now repeat this in all of the other ch1 spaces (corners)
I would highly recommend blocking your work!
Blocking:
Soak finished coasters for 20 minutes in cool water and squeeze excess water out gently. Do not twist. Lay damp coasters on blocking boards and use blocking pins to hold in place. Let your coasters dry completely before unpinning.
