Design

Today’s free crochet pattern is the Orla Triangle Shawl which is a super fun shawl to make which features only 2 stitches throughout the pattern! I hadn’t made a triangle shawl in quite a while and i actually really enjoy making them, triangle shawls always start off really quick because it looks like a mini triangle but after gradually increasing on every row it soon gets bigger!

You would have come across the Orla Shawl before which i have done in an asymmetrical shape and a top down version so i thought why not do it in a triangle and it come out absolutely beautiful. This is a filet crochet design which means it doesn’t use many stitches and how they are placed makes lovely ‘gaps’ in the fabric to give it a lovely design.

The actual pattern when you read it looks quite a lot to work up but when you are actually crocheting it you will notice there’s a lot of repeating of rows or just some slight changes on some rows so it is all very similar.
